The challenge: A leading augmented reality company needed to inspect optical arrays for next-generation AR glasses at mass-production speed. Manual inspection couldn’t keep pace with the assembly line, and the optics demanded metrology-grade precision.

What we designed: Three automated optical inspection stations, each solving a different measurement problem.

Transmission inspection station: Built for the automated assembly line with a precision Z-stage to lift optics into the measurement path. Achieved sub-25-second inspection cycles — fast enough to keep up with mass production. We also managed draftsmen to produce complete assembly instructions for the production team.
