The challenge: A membrane test that existed only as a manual research and development lab procedure needed to become fully-automated production equipment — safe enough to run unattended with flammable liquids, and reliable enough for a new production facility in Taiwan.
What we delivered: A fully-automated membrane testing machine developed from the manual lab procedure — with automated logging of test results to an on-premises server, and a design engineered to meet fire safety requirements for handling flammable liquids, including fire detection.
Program management at scale: We then oversaw the purchase, build, testing, shipping, and import of 17 tools for the new facility — coordinating Sales, Mechanical, Electrical, and New Product Integration engineers, project managers, Logistics, and Finance teams in both the USA and Taiwan, with personnel spanning Taiwan to Sweden.
The skills involved: Test automation, machine design, fire safety compliance, data logging systems, cross-functional team coordination, international program management, vendor and logistics management.
